SPONTANEOUS LUNACY VERDICT 3/10
------------
I have the .mp3. It's I guess a 4 or a 5 for me, a bouncy instrumental.
Snap!
(my bright and clear mp3 is from "Paul Williams, Vol 2, 1949 - 1952",
downloaded in 2011; bouncy yes, and I lean towards a minimum playlist
pass-score of 5)
Post by DianeEIt's called "Rye Boogie" because it's based on the traditional tune
"Coming Through The Rye," but it takes a verse or two to figure that out.
The combination of your knowledge and memory, Diane, is awesome!
As for Bill Haley (thanks Roger), he released "Rockin' Through The Rye" in 1956,
and Roger and Bill Haley remind us that this is a wee lassie and laddie Scottish song:
"Combining the traditional Scottish tunes 'Comin Thro The Rye' and
'The Campbells Are Coming.'
