Whatever happens to it now Nat has the most successful pop record ever
in any of these contests
WINNER : COLE
P.S In the later "BATTLE OF BATTLES" (where the best performing
numbers from each of the yearly battles were pitted against each other
randomly Clarence didn't do near so good

Round One

I think I probably was one of the 4 who voted for "Blue Shadows" and one
of the 8 who voted for "I Like My Baby's Pudding." I was definitely one
of the 14 who voted for "Mona Lisa." These were tough matchups for me,
but I do consider "Bon Ton Roula" an excellent, classic zydeco record.
Or, make that proto-zydeco. Whatever!

I voted for the Garlow classic consistently---until it came up against
the very best (and easily the most sublime) pop record of the entire
decade
