Alan Freed Rock And Roll Dance Party - Rock 'N Roll Boogie [LP Coral] - 1957

the next track, starring sax, followed by organ, is a soul-tinged instrumental that
could fall within the Carolina shag, Belgium popcorn, and Brit northern soul genres.

OT Monk Higgins {aka Milton Bland, 1936-1986, saxophonist} -
Ceatrix Did It [St. Lawrence 1022;;Chicago] - 1966

Mr. Acker Bilk {clarinet} and his Paramount Jazz Band -
Stranger On The Shore [Atco 6217] - 1962 {1961 in UK}
{accompanied by the Leon Young String Chorale; #1 in US and UK}
Mono:

Stereo:

'*' below, indicates the presence of some sax in a guitar instrumental:

The Astronauts {a fender fueled, 5-piece band, from landlocked Boulder, Colorado}
- Baja {p. bar-har} [RCA 8194] - 1963

{RCA asked the band if they played surf music - the Beach Boys were
killing RCA in the California market - the band said, "sure", which was
not true at the time...}
Ten minute cheerful doco on the Astronauts (1958-1968, 1989):

*The Crossfires {six-piece band in L.A. County} -
Fiberglass Jungle [Capco 104;;L.A.] - 1963 {all players aged c.15 y.o.}

"The guitars are a classic six-string surf rant. This is king tone, baby!"
Al Nichol played lead guitar on a '63 Strat thru a Standel amp and Fender reverb unit.
Howard Kaplan/Kaylan (tenor) and Mark Volman (alto) played sax in the group,
which evolved into The Turtles (1965-1970).

*The Premieres {Wichita} - Firewater [Nu-Phi 701] - 1960

BONUS -
Rusty Isabell - Firewater (Sew Dew) [Brent 7001;;Phoenix, AR] - 1959
piano driven rock 'n' roll, with guitar and sax breaks;

"Loved that piano playing fifths on the end."
said to be a fave Friday night dance song in some NJ locales at the time

*Ganimian & His Orientals {Armenian-American} -
Come With Me To The Casbah [Atco 6142] - 1959

"To play a baritone sax solo that well takes true talent as they're
a monster instrument"
Oud player Charles "Chick" {the Sheik} Ganimian was born in 1926 in
upstate New York; his father, an Armenian immigrant from Turkey,
also played oud. From 1960-1969, Chick, in his prime, was a headlining
fixture at the Roundtable nightclub in NYC. His music is also associated
with Oriental Dancing (e.g. in 60s/70s at the Saint George Hotel in Brooklyn).

OT Dick Dale {b. 1937} - Esperanza [LP 'Tribal Thunder'] - 1993

with upside down strings on his left-handed guitar!

The Marlins {South Hills, Pittsburgh} - Saw Mill Run [Scotty 818-A] - 1964

got a lot of play at local record hops

*The Savoys - Razorback [Studio 1000;;Cleveland OH] - 1958

I've been meaning to say that
this playlist is '4K YouTube to MP3' friendly - meaning you can
simply copy and paste the entire Newsgroup post, as is, into the app.
Downloading up to 3 items in parallel it took just 57 seconds to create
the 14 mp3s from the YouTube links (on my system).
Admittedly, the app does not create these mp3s in the exact same
sequence as in the post, and each mp3 filename is the YouTube song
title (not the title in the post).

So, the mp3s initially looked like this in the download folder:

MONK HIGGINS - CEATRIX DID IT.mp3
Monk Higgins - Ceatrix Did It.mp3
Rock 'n' Roll Boogie.mp3
Stranger On The Shore ~ Acker Bilk [HD].mp3
THE ASTRONAUTS - Baja (1963).mp3
Fiberglass Jungle.mp3
The Premieres - Firewater - Rockabilly Instrumental 45.mp3
1962 HITS ARCHIVE Stranger On The Shore - Acker Bilk (a #1 record U.S. & UK ).mp3
GANIMIAN & HIS ORIENTALS - COME WITH ME TO THE CASBAH [Atco 6142] 1959.mp3
Rusty Isabell - Firewater (Sew Dew) (Brent 7001).mp3
Esperanza.mp3
Razorback (Instrumental).mp3
THE MARLINS saw mill run.mp3
The Astronauts - Colorado Music Experience.mp3

But then, after editing the Newsgroup post in Notepad++ to arrive at a
list of replacement mp3 filenames, and using 'free' batch file-renamer
app "Ant Renamer", which can replace selected Windows Explorer
filenames with a simple (pasted or file) text list of filenames:
http://www.antp.be/software/renamer/download
I simply copied and pasted the replacement filenames from Notepad++
into the box on the right: https://bit.ly/3w4QKio
Clicking the green Go icon will change the mp3 filenames:
https://bit.ly/3u49ixx

The above mp3s now look like this (yes, too much info for some :-)

Monk Higgins - Ceatrix Did It [St. Lawrence 1022;;Chicago] - 1966.mp3
Monk Higgins - Ceatrix Did It [St. Lawrence 1022;;Chicago] - 1966 (2).mp3

The Astronauts - Baja [RCA 8194] - 1963.mp3

The Savoys - Razorback [Studio 1000;;Cleveland OH] - 1958 .mp3

I remember them (as "Ganim's Asia Minors") for their 1958 record
"Daddy Lolo (Oriental Rock And Roll)".

It charted for three weeks on WMGM in New York:

and was flagged as "Wax To Watch" on WMCA:
