6. OVER THE MOUNTAIN ACROSS THE SEA - JOHNNIE & JOE
http://youtu.be/iZxyAZf6iHA
This is a vocal group. Rex Garvin is the third voice.

20. JUST BECAUSE - THE COLLNS KIDS (unreleased)
http://youtu.be/a9heGyXaeK8
Never heard it before, but the "pretty, pretty pretty" and the "hot, hot
hot" ruins it.

24. HOY HOY - THE COLLINS KIDS
http://youtu.be/1-pQDHYGJIQ
This is far better than "Just Because" IMO. Even if JB did not have the
repetition that mentioned above.

The Shirley & Lee box set has 1957.
This is almost certainly a mistake because :-

a) In "Cash Box" dated Feb 1 1958 in the "R&B Ramblings" article (P.46)
it mentions "a new Shirley & Lee record "I'll Thrill You" coming your
way"

b) Billboard reviews "I'll Thrill You" February 3 1958 (P.63)

Well about b), lots of records that were reviewed in February have
turned out to have been released in November. But a) would seem to hold
more weight. I'll check more into this later.

Perhaps you could re-title these lists "My Fave *Vocal* Duet Top 20." It
doesn't make sense to me that you would use the technically correct
definition of "duet" and include a concerto for piano and violin or a
guitarist accompanying a singer. That never entered anyone's mind when
we had the Duets Battles, and for good reason.

Billboard's 40 biggest duets of all time seems to all be vocal duets. No
"Sleep Walk" or "Exodus."

I hate number one, but Diane likes it.

I see your point but I think everyone knows the score here. I think
nearly all the records that will make these lists are vocal with the
exception of something like "Sleep Walk" in 1959 which I always liked
and which is certain to make that year's list
