07 Hank Mizell - Jungle Rock [King 5236] - Aug 1959
Original issue (slightly different take) credited to "Jim Bobo" in error
on Eko 506 (Chicago) in late 1958.The rights passed to King who reissued
it (in the right take) in mid-1959. I imagine this was THE most booted
50's rock 'n' roll single of all in the 1970's---attracting the
attention of Charly Records here in London who issued it here in UK
getting enough radio play to get it to #3 on NME chart in April 1976 and
generate enough publicity to give Mizell the pay check of his life with
royalties PLUS income from a lucrative UK live tour

14 The Cadets - Stranded In The Jungle [Modern 994] - 1956
The best thing here IMO and one of the very best cover records ever

16 The Gadabouts - Stranded In The Jungle [Mercury 70898] - 1956
Probably the WORST thing here and one of the crappiest covers ever

17 The Jayhawks - Stranded in the Jungle [Flash 109;b-side;L.A.] - 1956
The still pretty good original version but not up to the Cadets standard
