I've decided to end the monthly jukebox. It was fun while it lasted.

Thanks to all the folks who were there every month, Carl, Frank, Roger, Steve, and also to those who were frequent or occasional players, Diane, Mike, Tommy Vee, Mark, Bruno, Geoff and Eric.

I think that's everybody.

Thanks for moderating it, though I am disappointed. Every month I was
turned on to songs I was not familiar with, and many became additions to
my library.

There's no reason that people should not post some links to videos of odd records that they like every so often.

I really enjoyed this while it lasted. Thanks Bruce. Already had January's prepared, so the previous post is just for sharing.

I haven't participated lately, but I collected a nice bunch of stuff I
hadn't known right through to the end. Thanks for doing it.

Thanks for running it. I think all of us picked up on some very good
records that we never knew before which for me is always guaranteed to
make my day

How do you "close" a jukebox?

You can unplug one.
You can turn or shut one off.
You can throw one out.
I guess you could even remove the cartridge.

But how do you close one?

I actually closed the playlist so there will be no more additions.

Sometimes they have a shell cover. You know, to keep the dust out.

You can close the cover or the doors that open to the mechanism and
speakers, but that's not closing the jukebox. It's closing the cover or the
door.

There's probably a joke in your reply but, if so, it flew over my head.
"Shell"?

I wasn't consciously thinking about this, but during the early morning
hours, it came to me that a jukebox is somewhat like a clam. And Google
confirms the term is in use. So maybe you weren't joking.

Although I had stopped participating, these contests gave me a two-fer. I totally enjoyed the experience of discovering records which I never heard. And more importantly, I developed an appreciation of "new" genres which I never would have listened to years ago.
