Yep,I'm gonna File The Honky Tonks

But under which year? 1951 or 1952??

The Marie Adams record I mean...... "I'm Gonna Play The Honky Tonks"

Generally reckoned by everyone (including moi)---until recently---to be
a 1952
record but.......

There was always that bothersome Peacock catalog # that placed it in
late 1951

Recently more sources have drifted towards a 1951 release date
(including Samp who placed in in November 1951--which may well be
correct)

What do you have Bruce?

52.

First time I see Marie Adams mentioned in BB or CB is an ad in April
1952. Of course it did not chart until the last week of June. But it's
Peacock 1583, and the last Peacock review in 1951 is Peacock 1587, a
Thornton single. So Samp might be right, but I'm staying with 52 for
now. Could be one of those things where the record was given a catalog
number but then got delayed for some reason.

While I was looking into it I saw that Marie did a version of her record
company's biggest ever hit at the time.

When I read this honky-tonk line, I swear it made me think of the bad lip
reading video song Bushes of Love (66 million views)
