Ten fave album tracks chosen from my yearly Favorites lists

Today………from 1960

None of these were issued as singles in USA

** indicates a single release here in UK

Hank Ballard & The Midnighters|I'm Crying Mercy Mercy|King LP674|1960

Chuck Berry|Down The Road A Piece|Chess LP1448|1960

Ray Charles| Drown In My Own Tears (live)|Atlantic LP8039|1960

The Crickets|I Fought The Law|Coral CRL57320|1960 **

Bo Diddley|Ride On Josephine|Checker 2977|1960

The Drifters|Honky Tonky|Atlantic LP8041|1960

Billy Fury|Turn My Back On You| UK Decca LF1329|1960

Elvis Presley|Reconsider Baby|RCA LSP2231|1960

Joe Turner|Rebecca|Atlantic LP1332|1960

Gene Vincent|She She Little Sheila|Capitol T1342|1960 **

The pop number from 1960 that came closest to being included here is

Peggy Lee|Till There Was You|Capitol T1290|1960 **

La Lee was always one of the better pop songstresses and this is a show
tune I always liked (even by The Beatles who seem to me to follow Peg's
version on their rendition)

Several of these are favorites for me, especially the Drifters (#14) and
Billy Fury (#30) and the Joe Turner (#24) which is a revamp of many of
his 30s and 40s things put together with a new title. Those 3 are all
nines for me.
